If you are skillful (or in some cases just lucky) enough to hole in one, then e-mail
me with the details of which course, hole, club used and any other points that we should be aware of (e.g. "hit perfectly out of the middle of the club and never left the line of the pin" or "moosie grunder which hopped through a greenside bunker, nearly snapped the pin in two before disappearing like a ferret down into the hole"). The author, having never achieved the feat and being unable to recall the last time he even came close, would settle for the "moosie grunder". Just one other thing - remember to leave a pint at the bar so that the author can drink a toast to your golfing skill.

The following golfers have Holed in One while they were members of The Caley.

September 2003  Cath MacDonald  Broomfield  12th hole  7 iron
partnered by her husband Ken.

Cath became the first Caley Ladies member to hole
in one since the Ladies section was started. Husband
Ken revealed that Cath's hole in one was scored on
her birthday, but he refused to reveal which one.

June 2002   J.J. Brown   Montrose Medal   3rd hole   4 iron
partnered by W. Taylor, W. Burness and S. Ritchie

Willie Burness tells me that this was a fourball bounce game
from the yellow tees.  John and his partner had played first
so, on seeing the ball disappearing into the hole, Willie asked
if it was worthwhile he and his partner hitting.  They did
however, and watched as Willie's ball nearly followed it in,
coming to rest inches from the hole.

Summer 1998   Johnny Paton   Montrose Medal   3rd Hole  8 iron
Partnered by Garry Tasker

John remembers that this event occurred in a run from the 1st of
  3-7-1-3  (translates as birdie-triple bogey-eagle-birdie)
