Rules For Visitors To Montrose Golf Courses
| Montrose Links Trust welcomes
Visitors to the courses and have introduced the following rules to ensure all enjoy their day in a comfortable and safe environment. It is the responsibility of the organiser or signatory of the visiting party to ensure these rules are adhered to. |
Deposit |
If for whatever reason any member of your party fails to arrive on the day the £10 non returnable deposit paid will be forfeited. |
Arrival |
The organiser or signatory of the party must report to the Professional shop on arrival and pay all green fees prior to the start of the first round. |
Dress |
Smart, casual attire is acceptable as a form of dress both within the clubhouse and on the courses. Blue denim jeans, sports shorts, collarless shirts, football shirts and tracksuit/jogging bottoms are not considered appropriate form of dress for the Medal course. There is no dress code for the Broomfield course. |
Catering |
If your party requires catering this will be arranged.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE PARTY ORGANISER TO CONFIRM EXACT NUMBERS FOR CATERING TO THE CLUB CATERER NO LATER THAT 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. If catering is not reserved in advance the Club cannot guarantee that food will be available. |
Buggies |
The Club do not allow the use of ride-on buggies on the courses unless medical certificate can be produced to confirm the disability of the golfer. |
The Tee |
To ensure the smooth running of the courses the tee-times allocated to the party must be adhered to. Gentlemen play from the yellow tees and Ladies from red tees. |
Etiquette |
To ensure the enjoyment of all golfers, please avoid slow play. If one group holds up a following group or falls one hole behind (even if they are the same party) the offending group must give way to the group behind. A Ranger will be present on the courses to monitor speed of play and will ask players to stand aside if they are too slow. Montrose Links Trust work had to ensure the standard of the courses is of the highest level and require the help and support of all visitors by asking that bunkers be raked, divots replaced and pitch marks on greens repaired. |
Handicaps |
Handicap Certificates are required for play on the Medal Course but do not on the Broomfield Course. However the Club required that all those wishing to play are golfers who have an understanding of the Rules of Golf and show knowledge of etiquette when on the courses. |
