Change of Name With the building of the new Clubhouse nearing completion it was suggested that the Club should have a new name. Three suggestions were put forward, these being to keep the name of the Half Holiday Golf Club, Merchants, Montrose Golf Club and the Caledonia Golf Club. The Caledonia came out on top in a ballot. |

More Trophies In 1902 Mr R.M. Austine donated a gold medal, Mr W. Slogie donated a silver medal and a cup, and a new Handicap Cup was purchased. The Austine and Slogie medals and the Handicap Cup are still played for today. |

Henderson Badge Mr A. G. Henderson presented the Club with a gold badge. The minute books record that any member who won it three times, not necessarily in succession, was to be allowed to keep the prize. This may explain why, although the Henderson Badge is still in the current fixture list, the Club no longer has the gold medal. 74 Entries An indication of how the Club was growing can be found in the entry for the Handicap Cup which numbered 74, out of a total membership of 94. |
